This workshop will use simple exercises to explore the effect of collaging visual, aural and live elements together into multiple configurations. As a group we will investigate how the placing objects, images, projections, sounds and actions can imply narrative, create dramatic effect or evoke critical audience reaction dependant on how we position them next to one another.
Participants are asked to bring two of the following: a piece of sound; an action or movement; an object; a video; a text or an image. The workshop is designed to accommodate a wide range of experience and interest as we play with our roles of director, visual artist, musician and performer. No previous experience necessary.
Cara Tolmie is a Scottish artist based in London has shown work at Dundee Contemporary Arts, Grand Union, (Birmingham), Tramway (Glasgow), Chisenhale Gallery (London) and S1 (Sheffield).
The workshops is free, but please book by emailing Yvonne Carmichael.
