Etheridge & Persighetti

Public House Residency

The first iteration of Public House was during Compass Festival 2018. Etheridge and Persighetti created 500 special edition pint glasses designed to spark conversations about the relationships between people, place and pubs. Distributed to every pub on Kirkgate, they invited audiences to reflect on the enduring role of the original “third space”, the public house.

Now they are back! Brewing new ideas, conversations, face to face connections, and even beer with people in Leeds and Cornwall. This time they are investigating how our social landscapes will be shaped by the pubs of the future?

At the heart of the residency is an “Exchange” weekend with brewers and pub activists from Cornwall returning a visit by Leeds counterparts that kicked off this years Public House research in July. We’re looking forward to tasting the resulting collaborative brew by Nomadic Beers and Granite Rock Brewery!

Keep your eyes and ears on our PUBlicity for pictures of best brews, good cheer, and emerging ideas.

ZU-UK

Radio Europa Residency

We are so excited to be hosting ZU-UK in Leeds. Annie and Peter were lucky enough to see Binaural Dinner Date last year - and now they are with us in Leeds, hopefully finding the answer to 'How the f**k we ended up here?'

During their residency, ZU-UK are researching an interactive work that asks us if it is possible to re-imagine ourselves, others and the world around us. Through a space led by sound brought to audiences in very new ways using new technology (bone conducting headphones and neckwear speakers) that allows audiences to communicate and still be part of the actual world. This experience will enable a site for play and risk-taking. It will be an experience that brings us closer to our fellow human beings - all married together with the testing of environmental soundscapes and what we can ask of ourselves in one of the most dangerous moments of history.

This is ZU-UK's first collaboration with sound designer Gareth Fry and Colombian duo Nueve Voltios

Are you following? Sounds intriguing, right? Want to find out how the f**k we ended up here? Keep your eyes and ears peeled for opportunities to play.

The Radio Europa R&D is supported by Compass Festival and MIF.
