Be part of Compass Festival 2016 : join a playful public performance in Leeds on 19th November
The Performers Are Making A Performance. Compass Festival has invited Jordan McKenzie to re-create his solo work as a participatory group action with Leeds citizens in Trinity Leeds.
We are looking for people to take part - could that be you?
A normal shopping day will be temporarily interrupted by a recorded announcement giving a set of simple instructions and within the crowd of shoppers, apparently random individuals will simultaneously follow the instructions. The performance will last 10 - 15 minutes and happen 5 times during the day between 11.00am and 5pm. Once over, the performers will melt back into the crowd. No previous experience is necessary and it is open to all ages and abilities.
You won’t need costume or make-up – you will be indistinguishable from the regular shoppers... and we’ll provide lunch.
Time commitment- We would like you to be available for a rehearsal in Leeds in the afternoon on Friday 18th November and for the performances all day on Saturday 19th November in Trinity. Prior to the rehearsal, you will receive a short film with the actions so you can get familiar with them beforehand. They will be simple, everyday movements.
If you are interested and available and would like to know more please get in touch with Marie Millward: [email protected] and mark your email TRINITY.
